1963 Airstream Bambi Renovation.

May 7th, 2011

Our friends over at Aveda asked for our help taking a great marketing concept to the streets. Introducing The Hairstream, a mobile Info kit that educates and informs new and future stylist about the Aveda philosophy and education opportunities. The Airstream was purchased in Arkansas last month and delivered to our studio in St. Petersburg Florida. Over the next three weeks, we’ll be transforming this classic cruiser into a luxurious vintage classroom cladded in zebra wood cabinetry, white marble countertops and tufted upholstery. Materials hit the shop floor Monday, and we couldn’t be more excited !

Shop Life. April 2011.

May 7th, 2011

The last couple months have been amazing. With new projects, new clients and new equipment- its been pretty exciting around the shop. I’m realizing that the magic of one of our pieces of furniture or installations doesn’t start once we deliver it to the client- but instead, the moment the client comes to us. From the first sketch to the material showing up at the loading dock- the process is where we find our passion We  Here are a few shots of a typical day around the T2theS workshop, enjoy!

Black It Out

February 19th, 2011

The Blacks walked into the office while we were in the middle of some project where we were setting things on fire, blowing glass and skateboarding…..and they still somehow let us design + build the interior of there amazing house located in St Petersburg Florida. Casual coastal living is promoted with a kitchen you’d find in nantucket- where grey woods and white marble fill the space, while the master bath puts you in Paris- with white subway, dark black walnut cabinetry and thick white concrete on top. And the master bath…well, what happens in the master bath stays in the master bath.

Our New Venture, LAMP.

January 9th, 2011

The designers and builders at T2theS have been busy putting together the first collection from their new furniture line. LAMP is a company dedicated to producing timeless furniture and accessories for the modern lifestyle. The first collection is a diverse range of products that is inspired by everything and is LAMPs first step at launching products that balance design and material, and ultimately create the language for LAMP- Laid Back Luxury. A tube amplified Ipod soundbox and a streamer trunk inspired home office unit are examples of the collections span and will be available for purchase at www.lampliving.com. A viewing of the collection and official web launch is scheduled for mid February at the St Petersburg showroom- We hope to see you there.

D’espresso Building = Dopeness

December 10th, 2010

D’espresso is a hip new espresso bar located near Grand Central Station in NYC. Designed by NYC studio Nemaworkshop, which by the way guys you do great work, the interior was built to resemble a library… turned on its side! To achieve this appearance, one of the interior walls features herringbone-pattern wooden flooring while the opposite wall has pendant lights which protrude horizontally. The back wall, as well as the floor and ceiling, all are covered in custom tiles printed with sepia-toned life size photographs of books. Images courtesy of Dezeen.

What will they think of next, haha. Really sick stuff and we will be posting stuff every week, so keep stopping by.

Fry Residence

December 6th, 2010

T2THES worked with interior designer, Sharon Imbriani from Being. Our task was to create a custom console for the client. Zebrawood and steel mesh work together to create a piece that’s modern in form, but traditional in material usage. We want to give a shout out to Amy, Sharon and Court at Being who are located in St. Petersburg, Florida. You guys are always good to us and repping our products to the fullest. One love.

FedEx Envelope Shoes Anyone?

November 30th, 2010

It happens every time.

You get an overnight package—your signed copy of Keith Richards’s book, an invitation to the White House Christmas party, that kind of thing. And you find yourself looking at that FedEx envelope and thinking: someone should make this into a pair of shoes.

Okay, you’ve never thought that. But someone’s gone ahead and done it anyway.

Introducing Civic Duty, a new line of futuristic sneakers made from the same stuff used in those indestructible airmail envelopes, available online now.

Imagine a typical pair of Chucks, reworked for Tron (we hear there’s a whole subplot about FedExing stuff). So after they’re dyed in a bright color (red, blue, two shades of brown) and sewn to a recyclable rubber sole, they go through a wrinkling process to give them the look of crumpled-up paper. (Trust us: everyone’s going to be wearing crumpled paper next spring.)

The result: easily the most elegant way to strap some envelopes to your feet. Also: a handsome pair of shoes that happens to be pretty easy to pack. So if you plan on turning your next Tokyo business trip into an all-night karaoke marathon with the locals (and you do), you’ll want to tuck a pair of these into any available corner of your carry-on before jetting off.

We just wouldn’t suggest airmailing anything home in them.

The Manhattan Transformation

November 7th, 2010

Building a sick space is what we’re all about here at T2THES. When we came across this transformation of a tiny 500 sq. ft. space, we fell in love with it.

As head of retail development and legal counsel leasing for American Apparel, Michael Pozner spends a lot of time sorting out the details when a new venue is chosen for the brand’s purposes. But, he admits, “I’m not a big architectural design guy.” So when he decided to reinvent the diminutive Manhattan studio in which he lives and works, Pozner tapped Darrick Borowski of Jordan Parnass Digital Architecture with whom he’d collaborated on multiple American Apparel stores. Pozner explains what happened when, architecturally speaking, he took his work home with him. Read more: http://www.dwell.com/slideshows/the-manhattan-transformation-my-house.html?c=y#ixzz14bbm06TK
